The highway, like many highways before, enjoys the same high quality lighting with one major exception-the glare factor was tackled right from the beginning. Unlike most other toll plazas where large areas necessitated high tilting angles of the high mast floodlights, Straits Design at the request of both the consultant and client, made use of a floodlight that allowed very low tilting angles. This improved the glare factor tremendously without compromising on the general lighting quality. The Highway Authority also made it a requirement that the lamps could be dimmed to conserve energy and this was duly complied with for this new highway.
