The municipality of Uithoorn in the Netherlands has taken another step forward in modernising its public lighting by replacing the luminaires on the busy Zijdelweg dual carriageway. This upgrade is part of a broader programme to prepare Uithoorn for the challenges of tomorrow.
From FURYO TO VINTO For many years, the road was lit by FURYO luminaires. However, they no longer met the local authorities requirements regarding energy efficiency, light quality and ease of maintenance for road lighting.
The new VINTO luminaire, with a design inspired by the timeless look of the FURYO, was the ideal solution for replacing the FURYO luminaires which were still equipped with traditional discharge lamps. Better quality of light using over 40% less energy Equipped with the most advanced modern technology, the VINTO surpasses the FURYO in terms of energy-efficiency and performance.
By replacing the FURYO luminaires fitted with 90W ceramic metal halide lamps with the VINTO MIDI (40 LEDs), the municipality has reduced energy consumption by at least 40%. The new luminaires have also significantly improved the quality of light and have a longer service life. All of the VINTO luminaires are connected to the Schréder EXEDRA smart lighting platform and will be dimmed at certain times during the night to reduce energy consumption even further.
