ENERGY SAVINGS AND SAFETY FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN SAO DOMINGOS DE RANA IN PORTUGAL

Like many towns and cities, Cascais is rising to the challenge of mobility plans by developing multi-purpose urban solutions. An important new road – Avenida Conde Riba D’Ave – was built to facilitate links between the towns of Carcavelos and Oeiras. This two-lane thoroughfare also incorporates a footpath and a bike path for different users’ needs.

Lighting is of course critical for the success of such roads as users need to feel safe and have excellent visibility. The local authorities opted for the Teceo luminaire which provides optimal photometrical performances with a minimum total cost of ownership.

The main road is lit by the Teceo 2 equipped with 80 LEDs on 8m high columns with a bracket while the footpaths and bike paths are lit by the Teceo 1 fitted with 32 LEDs on a 4m high post.

This high-performing solution provides a clear sense of well-being and safety for users while generating energy savings of 54% compared to a luminaire equipped with traditional discharge lamps.

A win-win solution for all!
