Cyber Park in Kozhikode

The Cyberpark in Kozhikode is an Information Technology Business Park that aims to promote and develop upcoming IT businesses in the Kerala region of India. Eager to help businesses with cutting edge technology, the developers have implemented the latest technologies to build this green campus, including the lighting.
The streets of the campus are lit by Schréder’s Teceo LED luminaires fitted with the Owlet remote management system which enables each luminaire to be monitored, controlled, metered and managed from anywhere in the world. A LuCo controller is installed in each luminaire while the SeCo segment controller manages all the LEDs in the luminaires via the ZigBee open communication protocol.

Any of the Teceo luminaires can be switched on or off or dimmed at any moment. They can send reports via e-mail or mobile telephones detailing their performance the previous night.

Apart from the monitoring and controlling aspects, Tom Mathew, the Electrical Project Engineer with Kozhikode Cyberpark, explained “The system enables you to save a large amount of energy through the effective utilisation of a dimming mechanism to reduce the consumption of power. At Cyberpark, we have set the output to 60 per cent on Sundays, while on working days, the pattern is 100 per cent output from 6.30 pm to 10 pm and 60 per cent from 10 pm to 6 am.”

This is the first intelligent lighting system in India and Schréder is delighted to have supplied it.
